What the US has Sown in Haiti they will Reap in Rural and Suburban America

According to news reports from around the world, the government of Haiti has fallen to gangs who are at war with the police and have basically taken the government hostage. Videos and pictures of horrific conditions are circulating, as well as reports of rising food cost, inflation, and citizens afraid to go outside. Though there are many countries reporting on the crisis, none seemed interested in helping.

People are fleeing the country going elsewhere such as the Dominican Republic, Chili, and the United States. However, the United States are deporting any new Haitian arrivals as quick as they come. “Since the Biden administration took office, it has sent at least 26,000 Haitian immigrants back to their home country, where life has been disrupted since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse last summer.”

Last year, the United States Border Patrol came under fire for their treatment of Haitian refugees in disturbing photos of officers on horseback slashing at fleeing Haitians with horse whips.

Aside from this one connection between Haiti and the United States, weapons have been smuggled into Haiti from the US in shipping containers. “Haitian customs officials seized shipping containers they said contained 18 “weapons of war,” plus pistols. And 15,000 rounds of ammunition. According to Reuters, the items were shipped from the United States to the Episcopal Church of Haiti disguised as “Donated goods, school supplies, dry food.”

None of the reports explain who is responsible for the weapons of war being shipped there, and of course no one is digging in deep enough to find out. Who would send guns to a nation already engulfed in civil war and violence? This mystery will not go unanswered.

Many people do not look deep enough into situations of this sort when it comes to humanity. They read the headlines and shake their heads in pity, disgust, or shame. Behind the two inhumane interactions from the United States comes divine retribution.

The United States is on the brink of a civil war, with a large percentage of society aiming their anger toward government and law enforcement. That same group of people are heavily armed and are on the verge of violent attacks against their assumed enemies. The only thing holding back a full-blown violent conflict is the slightest nuisance of disrespect of the group with their fingers on the trigger.

Once this imagined civil war becomes a reality, police forces throughout the country will face gunfire from these militia gang members, and when the police begin finding themselves out gunned and out numbered like the police in Haiti, the US will be facing a nasty conflict viewed on the international stage.
