A page was torn from George Orwell’s book 1984 on Tuesday, November 8th 2022.  The darkness that overshadowed this country was disguised as light, and took a psychological double take from people who realized the light of Democracy had been blown out, yet they dumbfoundedly submitted to an illusion that will cognitively decompose the next generation.

Once enough votes had been counted and wins and loses told the story of this country’s next Congress, the news media quickly jumped into the next phase of authoritarianism, which was to use the tactic of doublethink to brainwash the country into believing Democracy had been saved. Where this command came from has been unreported, yet perceived as coming from the oligarchy that now, and have for decades, controlled the political parties of the United States.

The spell cast on the gullible citizens of this country came from the darkness of a sorcerer who set in place a theory introduced into the mainstream fifty years ago when the nation was sold a Hollywood actor and told he was best to play the role as president while the true manipulators (the wealthy) sat behind closed doors plotting the country’s autocratic future and set in place an abundance of wealth off the backs of the working people.

At first it was just a theory, but now it is a reality, and working like clockwork. The theory was called Doublethink in George Orwell’s book 1984. Doublethink is defined as, “the act of simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct. “To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again… Four examples of doublethink used throughout 1984 include the slogans: War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength, and 2 + 2 = 5.”
