Book Banning and Burning is Dumb, because of the Internet
Parents – particularly white parents – have been ordered by right-wing nationalist to charge school board meetings yelling and screaming about certain books and lessons; claiming the books are racially and sexually charged and harming their children’s minds and egos. But we know the truth about all that; which is to hide their racist history.

But we know the truth about book banning and burning; which is to hide their racist history.
The entire effort is futile because their history cannot just go up in smoke while the Internet and printers exist. Sure, books are easy to burn as long as the entire library, or all libraries are burned, but the task of erasing history is probably impossible.
One hypothesis to why white parents are in such a hissy uproar is because they are ashamed of their past. Maybe because some their grandparents and great grandparents took part in America’s most heinous crimes against humanity, and quite possibly were in some of the pictures taken during the most recent times.
Nevertheless, books are not the problem any longer seeing civilization has advanced technologically. The Internet is full of history, not only of America, but of the world. There are massive databases of photos of history, documents, and information about the crimes against humanity the forefathers of America did along with the crimes of its motherland, Europe.
The Internet does more damage to a child’s mind than any summer reading program could ever do, in half the time. Not only is history laid open, but current bigotry is on display 24/7, 365. Bigotry spewed by celebrities, politicians, and everyday parents from around the way. Let us not forget the tons of pornography websites, including child porn, at the tips of little fingers.
So why are white parents claiming books by authors such as Toni Morrison, Maya Angelo, and Richard Wright are damaging their child’s mind? Or particular books such as To Kill a Mocking Bird, Huck Finn, and Harry Potter being restricted from their children’s hands when a video game controller or a mouse can do more damage than opening a book?
They say the N-word is used too much in some of the above books but hell, that word is used by celebrities and politicians and inadvertently used on almost every comment section on social media. Their own kids yell it at school events, on streaming videos at social gatherings, and in text messages to their friends.
Maybe these parents should be looking at their child’s online history and text messages instead of charging school board meetings yelling about banning books; the school board are doing their jobs by educating their bigoted children. How stupid are these people anyway? Well, they are Trump voters and corporate trolls, never mind.
