Tuna is Good, Be Thankful
Before 911, gas prices were anywhere from $1.20 to $1.40 a gallon. After the crises, terrorism and hurricanes, the prices jumped to over $3 a gallon, almost four. Then they threw us a bone and the prices dropped to $2 and we felt relief. But that bone was the beginning of the deception. It’s the old, bait and switch. Feed your child chicken for dinner then claim hard times and afterward feed it peanut butter and jelly for a few years, then when things return to normal for you, give it tuna and hope the child is dumb enough to be thankful for the tuna and not remember the chicken. If the child has any sense at all, it would become curious as to why there is no more chicken. Once the child is convinced that chicken will never again exist in their diets even though chicken farm stocks are rising and chicken farmers are prospering, that child will at some point inquire if they have a mind of their own. Obviously, the American people have no minds because no one has complained, the media has said nothing, nor have politicians raised the point. If they go long enough without saying anything, low gas prices will never return again but rise even higher right under our noses. And as long as they can convince us that tuna is good and we continue to lick that bone, we will never know the difference. © Feb 2007 by C.R. Hamilton
