The Powerless Underclass in American SocietyA bad marriage is one in which one spouse constantly reminds the other spouse of how fortunate they are while at the same time limiting their options, manipulating their actions, directing their future, and choosing their vocabulary. The big picture looks good with the nice house, the new car, and a nest egg for the future, and many would be content with this picture of life. This is the image of life that has been fed to them as a successful one and some people can take this image for what it is but there are others who see beyond the big picture and realize there is a wall of bondage around this image. Eat your pees, graduate high school, go to college, get a good job, get married, raise a family, pay taxes and die. It seems that if you had never began obeying this cycle of life by eating your pees, you would never die. This is the big picture. Do these things and people will look at your obituary and say something nice. Do not these things and there are consequences. You do not necessarily have to do these things in that sequential order, however if you neglect one there is a government bureaucracy or community organization awaiting you, which has been given the power over you to regulate your weakness for you. This is the wall of bondage. For instance, if you do not eat your pees, the FDA will publish humiliating articles about you and your peers on how fat you are and how irresponsible you are for not adhering to the social rules of healthy eating. If you do not graduate high school or go to college the welfare agency seeks your dependence. If you do not get a good job the banks and credit bureaus snub you. If you do not get married and have children the social community and church frowns on you, and if you do not pay taxes, the IRS digs your grave. On the other hand, if you do happen to get involved with any of the above powers that be but you do not follow their long drawn out policies and procedures, there is no one to appeal to if they wrong you. How do you fight the following if you do not have the money to fight with? 1. Health organizations that control medicines and hospitals, which are services everyone needs regardless of how much money they have. 2. Food processing companies that produce foods that are harmful to your body causing medical problems over many years. 3. Educational institutions that teach us curricula that has no bearing on real life at all and that forces into our brains lessons of Western propaganda. 4. Corporations that underpay minorities from the billions of dollars collected through mindless advertising, which destroys social morality. 5. Television and Hollywood medium that constantly pushes immorality on our children and ourselves. 6. News media that lie to us about anything that really matters and who portray minorities as idiots and the cause of social ills. 7. Science research studies that tell the public of the new discoveries only to change the discovery 10 years later. 8. Banking institutions that pick and choose who to lend to based on how much money they have loaned them in the pass. 9. Credit agencies that charge whatever they want for their own profit in their own legalized world of loan-sharking with the ability to make or break one life. 10. Judicial systems that target minorities simply because they have reason (scientific reason) to believe they are more violent and prone to criminal activity. 11. Prison systems that toss the key after they confine someone they thought committed a crime and which are overcrowded for that reason feeding criminals 3 meals a day when millions of people go without food for days. 12. Child support authorities that are biased toward men in general and award money to women who lie about who the fathers of their bastards are. 13. Lawyers who charge way more than any working person can afford to pay them only to lose a case because of lack of that of money. 14. Government agencies that want their money owed them regardless of anyone's situation if they find a single flaw in your recent annual pay, and will jail you if you have no reasonable excuse. 15. Government agencies that withdraw money from your paycheck until the day you die and in return offer little in return once you stop working. 16. Politicians that do not represent the working poor but represent the rich only and who make laws for the rich and not enforce laws for the working poor. How do you fight these bureaucracies? Who do you appeal to when there is no bureaucracy to defend you? Who do you go to when you have been wronged and do not have the money to pay for a lawyer to even break even? Who do you appeal to when you have been wrongfully jailed or have been cheated by a bank or misrepresented by a major news media? Who do you appeal to when the only voice speaking for you is lying? Who do you appeal to when you have no money to do so? People will argue the above questions by saying that you do not have to eat the fatty food or get a credit card or go to the public school or watch television or work for anyone but yourself or be treated by a local physician. That it is your right under the Constitution to choose what you will and how you live your life. However, once you stray from the norms of life is when you are ostracized and subbed the most. Once you decide not to live by society's rules is when you can see the wall. People are constantly reminded that we live in a great country and that the opportunities here are nowhere else in the world. People flock here from around the world to live in such a free society and to make money and to get educated. These things are true, many people have succeeded in America but many have not. Who speaks for the have-nots and who has done anything to change the situation? The powerless underclass in American society is the poor, and they have no mouthpiece so how can they ever be heard. The majority of the poor are Black, and Blacks are misrepresented and exploited by the news media and Hollywood, in politics, in educational institutions and in banking operations. To be heard in America, you have to either have money, be white, from another country, or crazy. © 2003 By C. R. Hamilton
