What America needs right now is a good old fashion divorce. Once a marriage has reached a point where the most fundamental pillars have been breached, like trust and respect; and when face-to-face confrontation hinges on violence, it is time for the couple to begin divorce proceedings before someone gets hurt. American Democracy is at that point.
The rudiments of Democracy are in question; freedom of speech, assembly, and basic Civil Rights have come into question as to whether they will last under the new presidential administration. This administration is literally seeking to tear down what holds a Democracy together yet the Democratic Party's only strategy is to put up a fight to hold it together, but they are losing the fight and the children are suffering.
At some point, the political historians of this country; its thinkers and strategist, must admit that this marriage is over and a divorce is in order; for the sake of the future of Democracy and the children. Other countries have done it in the past such as Germany, Korea, Poland, Vietnam, even Russia. The Bible even mentions that when a couple who are unequally yoked cannot come to one accord, they should separate for peace sake. (1 Corinthians 7:15). Not even the Supreme system of justice can mediate between what should be and should not.
Take your children and leave this God-awful man. He wants guns, you want butter. He wants oil you want water; he wants war, you want peace. The divide in ideology between the Republican (Conservative) and the Democratic (Progressive) factions in America are too stark; too deeply divided and much too different to maintain social peace in one country. California has the right idea, to secede from the nation and go their way. They have concluded rightfully that no one has to live under what they deem as abuse and corruption. They have the God-given right to leave and make a better life for themselves.
Why the Democrats find it necessary to continue this brutal and stressful struggle of trying to change this man is unsound. When friends can see the signs of abuse clearly but your eyes are blind to the truth and closed from battered punches; when the children can sense disruption in their lives and begin living rebellious; taking drugs, and seeking attention through acting out. When neighbors can hear the bickering from dark windows, see the drama in the driveway and listen to the gossip at the workplace. Divorce is imminent.
Why should people have to live subject to fear? Why should people have to look over their shoulders the rest of their lives afraid of being shot, rounded up and imprisoned, unjustly accused or locked out of life? Why should people have to eat and drink deadly food and water; breath polluted air, work tirelessly for little pay; be neglected of healthcare, overcharged for a simple education or preached to constantly about lifestyle by people who have no morals themselves? Why should people live being misinformed, lied to and lied about, or confuse as to what is true and what is not?
Leave this man and take your children. Let him wallow in his southern, muddy red clay while you harvest your northern, rich black dirt. Let him bask in his dirty crude black gold and Texas tea while you harness the power of the sun and cycles of the wind. Let him and his people dig into the dark undergrounds of the earth and mine their future while you teach your children to reach for the skies of the sun and wind. Let him build and collect his vast arsenals and his blue steel while you teach your children the art of competitive sports and teamwork. He cannot handle diversity, but you can. And let him ruthlessly drudge up the dark ages of the past of authoritarian rule, social control and Gestapoism while your people live in the bright future of diverse harmony. Build a fence out of shear spite across the fruited plains; like a 2500 mile restraining order stretching from sea to shining sea. Leave this man and take your children.
